Jeanette Vertentes
Jeanette Vertentes is a contemporary painter who lives and works in North Stonington, Connecticut. Her colorful paintings pay homage to the area she lives in, her beautiful gardens and the wide, endless sea. Joy and movement characterize her distinctive personal style, and her use of color expresses her vibrant spirit. She is known for large-scale, rich paintings.
She brings to life picturesque landscapes, beautiful seascapes, floral still lifes, different animals, and vast farm fields through contrasting and harmonious colors and bold compositions. From a young age, she has believed that anyone can create anything once they see it in their minds. She explains, “I love to create images that have life and movement using color and texture."
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Art with a concentration in painting from Rhode Island College. This program gave her the extensive knowledge on color theory and composition. For 15 years, she owned a very successful interior design and custom furniture company. She sold that business to focus solely on artwork and painting—her first love.
Jeanette has been painting full time in her studio since 2012, surrounded by her dogs and her garden. She participates in some of the country’s finest art shows during the spring and summer. She has a network of clients worldwide who commission paintings. Jeanette holds painting classes throughout the winter.
